Simple Guide to Speeding Up Slow Torrents
A lot of torrents these days are poorly seeded – especially in public trackers that don’t require users to seed their downloads after completion. This can be a big setback for people who want to download a certain game or movie that has some or no seeders. Luckily for you this can be avoided in most cases by adding more public trackers to your torrent.
If you don’t know what torrents are or want to learn how to download torrents, try following this guide.
You should already have a BitTorrent client installed, but if you don’t, try uTorrent (the one used in this tutorial) or Azureus.
Note: The following tutorial will not work on all torrents, so don’t complain.
For People Who Use uTorrent
To open a file, press Ctrl + O on your keyboard.
Select your torrent and click on “Open”.

Just click “OK”.

My torrent is going ~10kb/s. Let’s crank up the juice a bit.

To add new trackers to your torrent, right click on it and select “Properties”.

Copy the trackers from the list and paste them under the old trackers. Do not delete them!

After successfully adding the trackers to the list, click “OK”.

For People Who Use Other Clients
Head over to TorrentEditor. Click on “Browse”.

Browse for the torrent you want to bring back to life and click “Open”.

Now click on “Edit”.

Under the Tracker section, you’ll see a bunch of trackers. Delete the ones that aren’t responding.

Now we add our trackers. Copy and paste the trackers one by one. Click “Update” at the bottom of the page to verify your changes.

Once you’re satisfied with your changes, click on “Download” to get your new tracker-filled torrent.

As for the custom tracker list used in this tutorial, here it is:

Or download it here (right click > Save As..).
I made this list by myself, so when posting it on another blog or forum, please include my name.
Personally, I prefer the uTorrent method because it’s a lot easier and hassle-free. Also, do not use this method on private trackers as there is a high chance of being banned, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
